Kračule Street is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the vicinity of Baščaršija Square.

This street dates back to the early Ottoman period and its name comes from a Latin word. In 1931 it was called Samardžije, after the craftsmen who made samare (saddles) and other horse equipment. The name Kračule was restored in 1993.
